Measurement of pulmonary artery pressure in cyanotic heart disease using selective coronary artery cannulation techniques.
نویسنده
چکیده
The measurement of pulmonary artery pressure and resistance is crucial in the management of older patients with cyanotic congenital heart disease. This is especially important in patients who have had previous palliative surgery or known right ventricular outlet obstruction.' The ability to measure pulmonary artery pressure is often hampered by the presence of significant derangements of cardiac anatomy.2 Recently, in a patient who presented with complex cyanotic heart disease and a previous Blalock procedure, techniques developed for coronary balloon angioplasty3 4 and streptokinase infusion" of the coronary arteries were used to measure pulmonary pressure through the Blalock anastomosis.

The Impact of Cardiac Rehabilitation on Pulmonary Artery Systolic Pressure and Left Ventricular End-Diastolic Pressure in Patients after Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery
Background:Cardiac rehabilitation program (CRP) is a useful method of modifying cardiovascular risk factors, improving life expectancy and quality of life in patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD). The present study was conducted to evaluate the effects of cardiac rehabilitation on the pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) and left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LV...
متن کاملDifferent Presentation of Anomalous Origin of the Left Coronary Artery from the Pulmonary Artery in Adults: Case Reports
Anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) is a rare congenital cardiac malformation. We report three cases of ALCAPA who survived to adulthood. The first case was a 51-year-old woman who complained of typical chest pain that was diagnosed with ALCAPA using cardiac catheterization and coronary computed tomographic angiography (CTA). The second case was a 30-...
متن کاملUsing Combined Descriptive and Predictive Methods of Data Mining for Coronary Artery Disease Prediction: a Case Study Approach
Heart disease is one of the major causes of morbidity in the world. Currently, large proportions of healthcare data are not processed properly, thus, failing to be effectively used for decision making purposes. The risk of heart disease may be predicted via investigation of heart disease risk factors coupled with data mining knowledge. This paper presents a model developed using combined descri...

Abstract Introduction: Cardiovascular illness is the common disease in developed countries. Among of these illnesses the coronary artery failure significantly counted as a high rate of heart disease in the world. The main treatment for this condition is replacing coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) heart pump under surgical crew including skilled nurses. Objective: This study aimed to det...

Introduction: Ischemic heart disease is the most common cause of mortality in developed countries. CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft) is one of the therapeutic methods in ischemic heart disease. Methods and Materials: Considering the increased incidence of coronary artery disease in Iran, and with increased rate of CABG, we performed a cross sectioned study (1996-1999). In 635 patients 467 mal...
